My heart trembles when I listen to the tragedy of Karbala,
It’s the first day of the month, when a mother dresses her children in black, pakeezah (pure) attire, putting away all party outfits and bringing out modest, simple clothing.

Apakah erti risalah yang kuterima
I don’t trust the world to still be there,
O whose Master I am,
Wherein do peaks stand when I speak of you?
Chambered in my chest on the plains of Karbala
With the echoes of azan e fajr
The caravans of mystery boxes
I stand between the sun and the moon
How a street turned silent
