Asiyah Arastu

Writing for 12 years

I envy those who weep.

Inspired and sustained by the lectures of visiting scholars and powerful accounts of Islamic history, Asiyah has been writing poetry to honor the Ahl al-Bayt for more than 10 years. Asiyah has high hopes for the potential of English poetry in Muslim spaces as long as communities nurture and shape its growth just like her own community nurtured and encouraged her poetic endeavors.
