Waqai-E-Karbala
O' My Allah, what has happened?
Hussain left town, now we are saddened
On the day of: Ashura
Darkness came to: our duniya
Abbas went to get, water for the children
On his way back, all the enemies hit him
When Abbas hit the ground, His-Aaqa-too fell-down
For-her dear uncle, Sakina cried-out-loud
She doesn’t want, the water now
Aun-Mohammad and Qasim, three-boys-in their adolescence
Who shouldn’t-have-to, participate in a war
Had-to-ask-their-uncle, for his blessing
Oh the calamity, my Imam had, his patience tested
Zainab kept praying, to the heavens
She-was-asking-for-the, help of her parents
To come and save them, from the tyrants
The father-of Akbar, and Ali-Asghar
Was-all-by himself, in the desert
Sajjad was-too ill, as-the-women-were- tortured
Their tents were, set on fire
And every-one, was so tired
All the bibis, had-their-hands shackled
And-no-one came-to, help-them in-this-battle
All-that-was wanted, by Sakina
Was to go, back-to-Medinah
Hussain's-family-became, oh so-Ghareeb
As it felt-like, judgement day, came so-Kareeb
O' My Allah, what has happened?
Hussain left town, now we are saddened
On the day of: Ashura
Darkness came to: our duniya
Jaloos downtown, Sunday afternoon
Chants of love-for, the Master-of-Youth
We’re devastated; and grateful too
For he left-us, with-the-path-of-truth
Our curses go out, to-the-hateful-few
Who chose to: decimate-an-army, then parade-those-troops
Through-the-city-of: their command, to send-a-message
That you-must-turn-a, blind eye to sin, or face wreckage
The miscreants found, strength in their numbers
Our ladies found-strength, in their religion
Once-upon-a-time: on hot plains, he would cry
Today it’s us, who are left-with, tears in-our-eyes
What-you-had-to-go-through, we cannot fathom
Until-our-dying-breathes, we send our: compassion
With all our hearts, you & your’s, we will cherish
Laanat to your dushmans, Allah may they perish
Insha’Allah; the-day-we-walk-through, pearly gates to-you, kash is soon
O’ my Mola! inna-lillahi wa inna-ilayhi raji’un
