Love does not grow old -Habib Ibn Mazahir

Habib Ibn Mazahir- Love does not grow old. I speak of Habib ibn Mazahir. Not as history speaks, but as grief remembers. O Habib… you were not young, yet you came. You were not called by need, yet you answered. You were not forced by fate, yet you chose. What is this choice, if not love in its most complete form? You had lived your years in peace. You had known the weight of mornings without fear. You had been granted the permission of age to remain, to withdraw, to rest. But when the name of Hussain(as) was called, To rest became impossible. O Hussain (as) my master my witness my final turning What heart could hear your loneliness and still remain still? So Habib rose. Not in haste. Not in noise. But in certainty. As if his soul already knew where it belonged. The desert of Karbala did not surprise him. It recognised him. A witness had arrived one old enough to understand betrayal, one old enough to recognise truth without argument. And when he reached your camp, O Hussain (as) it was not arrival. It was return. On the day of Ashura, the world narrowed into thirst. And silence. And waiting. Men left you one by one. Promises broke like brittle wood. And the earth grew lighter of loyalty. But Habib remained. An old man, standing where the young had fled. Not because life had no value, but because truth had more. O Habib… what did you see in Hussain’s(as) face that made the world so small? What certainty passed between you that made death irrelevant? You did not ask for tomorrow. You did not bargain with survival. You did not turn away. You stood. And standing, you became enough. When you fell, no sound was recorded by history that can carry what that moment meant. Only this remains: that an old man gave away his last breath for a son of Fatima Zahra(as). And in doing so, he made loyalty visible. O Habib ibn Mazahir every majlis remembers you without needing your name. Because loyalty, when it becomes complete, no longer belongs to time. It belongs to Hussain (as) Peace be upon Hussain (as) Peace be upon the companions who did not leave him. And peace upon the one who proved that love and loyalty does not grow old.
