Join Poets of The Household for our June Poetry Workshop by the renowned poet Batool Rizvi. The workshop will explore Ekphrasis poetry focusing on the event of Ghadeer Khum as the underlying theme.
Batool Rizvi is a multidisciplinary poet, literary translator, visual artist and community organizer published in Mother Tongue Journal, Harvard Divinity, Huffington Post, AhlulBayt Collective, and more. Batool is a poetry candidate at Columbia University's MFA in Creative Writing program where she served as the Chairs Fellow for Literary Translation and won the Richard Howard Memorial Prize. Her work is concerned with both experimental & traditional forms and immersed in lyricism, sound, & innovation to convey themes of mourning, faith, family & colonial histories, and sociopolitical realities.
Batool also serves as a youth representative for Imamia Medics International to the United Nations and the Partnerships Director at the SPACE conference.
